Kid Brothers of St. Frank is supporting the following ministries for 2008:

Bread for the Brain
Bread for the Brain is a Christian nonprofit organization which exists to serve God by encouraging reading, distributing knowledge, strengthening families and improving communities among the world's poor by distributing books, reading materials and other media at low cost or no cost to the recipient. They have received funding to start a library in Sharps Corner, South Dakota, where the nearest bookstore and library are over 70 miles away. Since 2000, they have given away 10,000 new books. In 2004, Bread for the Brain established a library at Potato Creek, South Dakota.

Dino and Nanette Butler
Dino and Nanette live in Vanderwagon, New Mexico where they minister to their own people on the Navajo Reservation through personal evangelism, relevant discipleship, and leadership development. They lead Bible studies with the youth on the reservation and Dino has an active music ministry leading the youth in worship and giving concerts. They hold an eight week summer camp that ministers to hundreds of kids from ages eight to 18. Dino and Nanette have a heart for serving God and ministering to the people on the Navajo Reservation.

First Nations Ministries
Duane and Susie Syx and Jamie Whitfield have been on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in Globe, Arizona, working with First Nations since Oct of '04. They mainly focus their ministry on the teens on the reservation, ministering to them through discipleship groups, bible studies, mentoring, Sunday School, youth events and emergency assistance (food and clothing). It is their desire to raise up a generation of Native American teens that will be the leaders in the churches on the San Carlos Reservation.

Hope in Transit
Dave and Lisa Sprinkle, formerly with the Legacy Traveling School, have branched out on their own to start Hope in Transit. Hope in Transit is designed to bring love and hope to young people on the reservations in the southwest using music as a vehicle to minister to spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs. Dave and Lisa travel in a monthly cycle to three different locations on the Navajo and White Mountain Apache Reservations teaching the students keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, recorder, music theory, and recording technologies. Because they are able to spend quality time with the students at each location, they have become "voluntary accountability partners" for the kids, encouraging them to make good decisions, to work and study hard, and ultimately be who they were created to be.

Hosea Youth Services
Hosea Youth Services, located in Eugene, Oregon, ministers to homeless teenagers and young people, ages 12 to 25. They bring together civic and faith based ministries committed to serving young people, particularly the homeless and disenfranchised. Hosea Youth Services provides food, laundry, showers, clothing, and shelter. Referral and casework assistance includes finding work, housing, educational and medical resources. They serve over 8,000 meals per year and provide 1,500 nights of shelter care to the young people they are called to serve.

Mission Year
LOVE GOD / LOVE PEOPLE // NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
Mission Year is a dynamic movement of believers dedicated to building the Kingdom of God through sacrificial service. Every day our Team Members put their faith into action in inner-city neighborhoods across the nation, providing a powerful combination of community service and Christian love. They tutor, build, nurture, repair, encourage, assist, organize, teach, learn from, listen to, and pray with all kinds of people, all in the name of Jesus. It is a radical opportunity for Christian young people to put into practice the simplest and most important commandment of Jesus: "Love the Lord your God, and love your neighbor as yourself." By living and working for a year in a poor, urban neighborhood, partnering with a local church, volunteering at a social service agency, and spending time with neighbors, Mission Year team members effectively impact their communities while catching a deeper vision for what the Kingdom of God is like.

Nepa Fec Ministries
The Legacy of Contemporary singer/songwriter Rich Mullins lives with the family and friends that carry on his ministry. Rich taught the Good News of God's Love to Native youth in New Mexico. Now that same ministry is being carried on in South Dakota on the Pine Ridge Reservation. With leadership, support, and sponsorship of the Mullins family, they are the Hands and Feet of Rich's dream. The desire of Kid Brothers of St. Frank was to continue Rich's vision for Native youth, and Nepa Fec/Hands and Feet Ministries is happy to continue that dream.

Nepa Fec (nay-pah see) which means "hands and feet" in the Lakota language, is a unique ministry that goes to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. This ministry happens in two parts: a construction team to meet the physical needs of the people and two VBS and Street Ministry teams that go out to minister to the children of the Lakota tribe. In just six years, Nepa Fec has grown from serving 36 children to serving over 300 children during the week of VBS. Their ministry to the community includes repairing churches, roofs, basements, and building numerous handicapped ramps for the elderly.

New Directions
New Directions, located in Greenfield, Ohio is a Christian community youth ministry designed to reach out to students in grades 7 through 12. With a full-time youth minister on staff, New Directions is able to reach out to all of the youth in the area. They have an informal game night, a coffeehouse, a high energy worship night with music and a message, weekly Bible studies, small groups, summer camp and mission trips.

SonRise Ministries
SonRise Ministries, run by Harold and Mary Lou NezBegay are partnering with Navajo Brethren in Christ Mission to sponsor an art and music camp to the youth on the Navajo Reservation. This will be a day camp held at the BIC Mission on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. Youth from the local community will attend this camp and learn native art and music from volunteers. Harold and Mary Lou have many years of experience working with youth. They have partnered with Dave and Lisa Sprinkle of Hope in Transit since 1999 putting on various art and music camps and youth activities. Duane and Diane Bristow also have several years experience working on the Navajo Reservation. They minister to people on the Navajo Reservation year round offering a school, VBS programs, mission teams, and various other projects.

Wayne Reed Christian Childcare Center
The Wayne Reed Christian Childcare Center is located in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee and strives to draw urban and suburban families together and to provide excellent academic, cultural, and social opportunities for at-risk and under-served urban children. Kid Brothers is partnering with this ministry to provide scholarships to help parents rise out of government subsidy and return to the work force and job training. The Wayne Reed Center emphasizes character development and self esteem and has been rated in the top 3% of childcare programs in the state of Tennessee.

Youth Horizons
Youth Horizons' mission is to strengthen young people and their families through a network of personal and professional relationships in two primary programs, the Martin House Residential Program and the Youth Horizons Mentoring Program. Founded by internationally renowned singer Earnest Alexander in 1985, Youth Horizons is dedicated to serving these young people and their families without regard for race, creed or religion. All of Youth Horizons' programs seek to give young people the skills they need to become productive members of our community. Both the Martin House Residential Program and the Mentoring Program emphasize life-skills training, including effective decision-making techniques, communication skills and conflict resolution.
